Kleine Impressionen aus dem Exotenwald oberhalb von Weinheim in Baden-Württemberg an der badischen Bergstraße.
Bei der kleinen Wanderung haben wir uns, bis auf kleine Abstecher an den Großen Rundweg (6) gehalten und sind mit dem Schlossgarten und einen kleinen Teil der Altstadt um die ~6 Kilometer gelaufen.
Die Mittagsrast am Café Am Markt Weinheim ist leider keine Empfehlung, das Schnitzel mit Pommes und Salat war Convenience Food par excellence. Das Schnitzel war verm. Formfleisch und hatte überhaupt nicht geschmeckt, die Pommes waren reichlich aber nur Standard und der Salat war groß und gut – aber das Schnitzel ist überhaupt keine Empfehlung. Der Flammkuchen mit Lachs war anfänglich erst kalt, wurde aber nochmal warmgemacht, aber auch da war der Teig sehr trocken und hat nicht geschmeckt, die Stücke mit Lachs und Dill waren zwar ok aber auch dafür keine Empfehlung.
Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und einen Espresso und Caffè Latte gab es als Abschluss noch obendrauf….

Small impressions from the Exotenwald (Exotic forest) above Weinheim in Baden-Württemberg on the Bergstrasse ("Mountain Road") in Baden.
For this short hike, we followed the Großen Rundweg (6) (Forestway), except for a few detours, and walked around ~6 kilometres/~3,7 miles, including the Schlossgarten (Castle garden) and a small part of the old town.
The lunch stop at Café Am Markt Weinheim is unfortunately not a recommendation, the schnitzel with fries and salad was convenience food par excellence. The schnitzel was presumably moulded meat and didn't taste good at all, the fries were plentiful but only standard and the salad was big and good - but the schnitzel is not a recommendation at all. The tarte flambée with salmon was initially cold, but was warmed up again, but the dough was also very dry and didn't taste good. The pieces with salmon and dill were ok, but not recommended.
The service was very friendly and we had an espresso and caffè latte to top it off....
