Was schön klingt, frei nach dem Motto: Bahnfahren ist lustig, dann stimmt das (leider) nur bedingt.
Klar der Mannheimer Hauptbahnhof ist (eigentlich) gut mit dem Darmstädter HBF verbunden. Warum aber mein geplanter Zug ausgefallen ist und auch der nächste nicht gefahren wäre, naja….. und ich habe das eher zufällig in der DB App gesehen sonst wäre ich verdutzt am HBF in Mannheim am leeren Gleis gestanden. Dank der Bahn App (doch meistens besser als die Original DB App) wurde mir der Anschluss vom Bahnhof Waldhof nach Riedstadt-Goddelau angeboten, ok eigentlich auch die einzigste Alternative, von dort aus mit dem Bus zum HBF Darmstadt (ok der fährt am WE nur einmal die Stunde - also 34 Minuten warten (ok es waren 36 Minuten, aber der Bus war dann schon püktlich und mal cool zu sehen wohin der alles fährt) war aber alles gut und dann hat für mich die Wanderung am Darmstädter Hauptbahnhof begonnen:
Darmstadt HBF - Luisenplatz - Schlossgarten - darmstadium und der Erich-Ollenhauer-Promenade - Mathildenhöhe - Park Rosenhöhe mit dem Löwentor und dem Rosarium - erste kurze Rast im Hofgut Oberfeld (Eiskaffee und doppelter Espresso) - Dachsberg - Dommerberg - Herrgottsberg - Goetheteich mit dem Goethefelsen - Ludwigshöhe - Marienhöhe - Prinzenberg und über eine etwas andere Strecke zum Eberstädter Marktplatz und die Abschlussrast in der Taverne Òpa (Hähnchen-Suflaki, mit Reis und Beilagensalat, ausversehen ein Weizen mit Alkohol - aber getrunken, dann eins ohne und Abschluss (offiziel) mit einem doppelten Espresse und (inoffizeiel mit einen Ouzo).

Ja zurück war die Frage gleicher Weg oder zum HBF Darmstadt? Hmmm…! Wurde dann (ohne das ich wusste wann die Bahn fährt) zum Bahnhof nach Riedstadt-Goddelau gefahren (fast bis vor die Tür) Mega dankeeee und Glück war das die Bahn am Bahnhof (...oh Gott schnell hin) mir vor der „Nase“ wegfuhr - aber es war die Bahn nach Frankfurt. Nach Monnem war 19 Minuten später da - also alles gut. Gleich noch Fotos vom Bahnhof in Riedstadt-Goddelau mit der Abdendsonne gemacht und dann häm….

What sounds nice, freely according to the motto: Bahnfahren ist lustig (Translated: train travel is fun), then this is (unfortunately) only partly true.

Sure the Mannheim main station is (actually) well connected with Darmstadt main station. But why my planned train is canceled and also the next would not have driven, well..... and I have seen that rather by chance in the DB app otherwise I would have stood baffled at the main station in Mannheim at the empty track. Thanks to the Bahn (Train) app (but mostly better than the original DB app) was offered me the connection from Waldhof Train station to Riedstadt-Goddelau, ok actually also the most alternative, from there bus to Darmstadt main station (ok drives on the Weekend only once an hour - so 34 minutes wait (ok it was 36 minutes but the bus was then already punctual and cool to see where the everything goes) but everything was good and then the hike has begun for me at Darmstadt main station:

Darmstadt Main station - Luisenplace - Schlossgarten (Castle moat) - darmstadium and the Erich Ollenhauer Promenade (food way) - Mathildenhöhe - Park Rosenhöhe ("Rose Heights") with the Löwentor (Lion's Gate) and the Rosarium - first short rest at Hofgut Oberfeld (iced coffee and double espresso) - Dachsberg (Hill) - Dommerberg (Hill) - Herrgottsberg (Hill) - Goetheteich (smal lake) with the Goethefels (Goethe rock) - Ludwigshöhe (Hill) - Marienhöhe (Hill) - Prinzenberg (Hill) and via a slightly different route to the Eberstadt marketplace and the final rest in the tavern Òpa (Chicken suflaki, with rice and side salad, accidentally a beer with alcohol - but drunk, then one without and conclusion (offiziel) with a double Espresse and (inoffizeiel with an Ouzo).

Yes back was the question same way or to the main station Darmstadt? Hmmm...! Was then (without that I knew when the train goes) to the station to Riedstadt-Goddelau driven (almost to the door) Thank you very much and luck was the train at the station (...oh God quickly there) me before the "nose" drove away - but it was the train to Frankfurt. After Mannheim was 19 minutes later there - so all good. Immediately still photos of the station in Riedstadt-Goddelau with the Abdendsonne made and then home....
